David S. Cohen covers 3-D, visual effects and post-production for Variety. Since 2003 he has spearheaded Variety’s expanded coverage of entertainment technology, including the new Tech page in Weekly Variety that debuted earlier this month. He has worked in or covered the entertainment industry for more than 30 years, including stints as a stage electrician, stage manager, Off-Off-Broadway director, television writer and documentary writer-producer. He is also the author of “Screen Plays: How 25 Scripts Made It to a Theater Near You, For Better or Worse,” from HarperCollins, and is now working on a book on the art, science and business of 3-D.
