Brad Collar, Subgroup Chair, SMPTE 3D Task Force and Vice President, Technology, Warner Bros. Entertainment
Brad Collar is Vice President, Technology, for Warner Bros. Entertainment, where he is deeply involved in the development of new media technology and strategy at the studio.
Prior to his current position Mr. Collar served as Director, Digital Distribution Technology from 2002 to 2007 where he focused on the development and launch of the Blu-ray Disc format. From 1996 to 2002 Mr. Collar held several positions within Warner’s in-house compression and authoring facility, GDMX, where he was instrumental in the launch of the DVD format.
Mr. Collar is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Screen Actors Guild. He has 8 patents pending in the United States. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UCLA as well as an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
