Dr. Nancy D. Sidhu is Vice President and Chief Economist in the Kyser Center for Economic Research of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation. The LAEDC is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting business firms and fostering job growth in Los Angeles County. Dr. Sidhu analyzes and prepares forecasts of national, regional and industry trends for the LAEDC’s economic publications and delivers speeches to audiences throughout California. Dr. Sidhu is frequently quoted in California publications including the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Daily News, Los Angeles Business Journal, and Orange County Register and has appeared on network TV and radio stations including KNX, KABC, KCBS, KNBC, KTLA, and Fox to name a few.
Just prior to joining the LAEDC, Dr. Sidhu was a Senior Economist for Bank of America, specializing in the economic analysis of selected industries and the Southern California region. Previously, she had served Security Pacific National Bank, where she prepared the Bank’s U.S. economic and interest rate forecast.
Dr. Sidhu received her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Active in her profession, Dr. Sidhu chairs the Economic Advisory Council of the California Chamber of Commerce. She also is Associate Editor of Business Economics. She has served as President of the Chicago and Los Angeles chapters of the National Association for Business Economics.
