John P. Quinn
John is EVP WW Operations for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a division of Warner Bros.
Current responsibilities include sales, field marketing, manufacturing and distribution for game products developed and or distributed by WBIE. John started in this role in December 2006.
Prior to WBIE John was EVP Worldwide Supply Chain Management for Warner Home Video and was responsible for worldwide procurement of manufacturing and distribution services for all home video finished goods, components and mastering services, determining WHV’s supply chain strategy, vendor criteria and selection and internal organizational issues. As Service Management MPO, John’s responsibilities included integration of processes across all service management functions including Pre Production, Supply Chain and Order to Cash. From 2004 to 2007 John was the Business Sponsor for WHV’s implementation of its global ERP and PLM solutions.
John joined Warner Communications in 1977 as Director of Sales for WEA, the sales and distribution division of Warner Music Group. In 1983 he moved to Warner Home Video as Director of Sales. John left WHV from 1986 to 1988 to take a position as Director of Store Operations for a major audio video retailer. In 1988 he rejoined WHV as VP Sales for the US and in 1996 was promoted to SVP Sales. During John’s tenure as head of sales (1988-2001), WHV U.S. revenues grew from $136 million to $2.5 billion. In 2001 John moved to the newly created position of EVP WW Supply Chain, in 2004 he added responsibility for Service Management MPO and in 2007 took on the WBIE responsibilities.
John has been involved in many key initiatives including the transition of the video industry from a rental to a sell through model, the successful launch of DVD, the initiation and global expansion of WHV’s Vendor Managed Inventory function, the development and global expansion of WHV’s Category Management function with several key retail customers including Wal Mart and launching WHV’s China sales and distribution joint venture. John also established a global sales process for all territories and was part of the team which negotiated the sale of WMG’s manufacturing assets with specific responsibility for the long term, multi billion dollar supply agreement with the purchaser.
John attended the University of Houston, received his EMBA from SMU in 1988 and has completed several advanced study sessions at Kellogg Graduate School of Management including Supply Chain Management, Sales Force Effectiveness and Consumer Marketing.
