Todd Collart
Todd Collart, SVP New Media, Deluxe Digital Studios. Mr. Collart is responsible for Deluxe’s new media initiatives, including network services (such as BD-Live, Digital Copy, Managed Copy, digital distribution), technology strategy, R&D, and intellectual property development. One of his first initiatives at Deluxe was launching Blu-ray compression and authoring services, shipping over 1000 Blu-ray skus, of which 500 are enabled for BD-Live. Prior to joining Deluxe, Mr. Collart was a SVP at Sonic Solutions responsible for driving corporate and technology strategy across Sonic’s divisions, including the Roxio consumer software division. He joined Sonic via its acquisition of InterActual Technologies in 2004, where he was co-founder, President and CEO. InterActual is best known for inventing what is now called “connected DVD” or “WebDVD” that shipped on over 1500 Hollywood DVDs and used by over 130M consumers worldwide. InterActual’s technology was the predecessor for the advanced interactivity features included in both Blu-ray and HD DVD. In addition to his role as an evangelist, speaker, and developer in the DVD and Blu-ray community for the last 12+ years, Mr. Collart was chosen by insider publications as one of the 21 most influential executives in the DVD industry since DVD’s introduction in December 1995. Prior to co-founding InterActual, Mr. Collart served in marketing and managerial roles with NEC Technologies, Synopsys, and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Collart received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and has 20 issued patents, several of which have been deemed essential to the Blu-ray format.
