Lavinia Carey

Lavinia Carey, Director General, BVA. Director General of the BVA since 1993, with responsibilities for parliamentary affairs, industry and external relations, co-ordinating the association’s market research and charitable activities. Chair of the Alliance Against IP Theft since 1998, which campaigns for legislative reform to enable IP rights owners to protect and promote their rights in the interests of British industry and employment.  Set up the Industry Trust for IP Awareness in 2004, whose remit is to improve public awareness of and respect for the value of copyright.  Since October 2007 chairs Respect For Film, a steering group running the industry anti-piracy pilot project in the UK.
