Elizabeth Toppin is a  founder and the editor of Digital2Disc magazine, a global business to business magazine serving the content delivery market. She has been involved in the content industry since 1994, first as a staff writer for One to One magazine, and then as its editor. She has also been the moderator at industry conferences of various panels, from test equipment to studios and the supply chain. Elizabeth was born in the US and grew up in Barbados; she returned to the US to receive a high school diploma at Phillips Exeter Academy and a BA magna cum laude in English and Philosophy at Boston University. She has lived in the UK for many years.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Cary worked as an engineer in the R&D labs of U S WEST (now Qwest) in the knowledge-based systems group. After law school (Santa Clara University, cum laude), he worked as a patent attorney for the Silicon Valley-based law firm of Fenwick & West. Mr. Cary returned to Colorado and followed the legal chain of title from U S WEST, to MediaOne, to AT&T Broadband, now Comcast!

After a short stint at a “.bomb” company, Mr. Cary returned to the cable industry at CableLabs. His main focus at CableLabs is on legal, policy, and business issues related to advanced video platforms, content protection, content distribution technologies, and interactive programming. He also provides general advice on cable industry technology strategy, IPR licensing, standards setting, antitrust, and patents.

Mr. Cary also serves on the Board of Directors of the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR).

Tom Moran joined Savvis Communications Inc. when they acquired the commercial business of Eagan, MN based WAM!NET Inc. in 2003. Having served as Director of the Media and Entertainment division of WAM!NET from 2001 through 2004, Moran was promoted to Senior Director of the Media Services division of Savvis in January 2005. He is responsible for corporate strategy, business development, as well as sales and market development for the WAM!NET Service Portfolio at Savvis (SVVS).

Moran helped lead the successful restructuring of Cybernet Systems Inc. of Minneapolis, MN from hardware sales into professional services and training for its media industry customers, ultimately leading to the acquisition of Cybernet by WAM!NET in 2001. While leading the Media and Entertainment business unit at WAM!NET Moran was responsible for establishing a unique domain expertise that led to the implementation of a number of ground-breaking content management and distribution projects, serving customers such as Universal Music Group, Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, EMI and Technicolor, and many other marquee names in the Media Industry.

Moran is the primary architect of business-to-business systems that are now the industry standard practice for production and distribution of media content electronically as opposed to the more costly, risky and time-consuming processes associated with handling physical media. This success led to his appointment to the Executive Governing Board of Directors for the Global Society for Asset Management in 2003 as well as a number of other industry accolades. Guy started his career in the entertainment industry as a successful performer and producer, making music with industry giants such as Phil Ramone, Elliott Scheiner, and Dave Grusin. He joined the home entertainment industry as president of LFA, Inc., providing home video brand and business consulting services for a worldwide clientele. His firm represented JVC (Victor Company of Japan, Ltd.) in North America licensing the loading and duplication of VHS videocassettes bearing the VHS Logo Trademark. He became the director of operations for CDSA (then IRMA, International Recording Media Association) in 2005 where he pioneered the Daily News Portal, co-chaired the accountability sub-committee of EPCglobal Item Level Tagging Public Policy Steering Committee and helped form the Plastic DVD Packaging Standards Committee (authoring the standard used to certify packaging plants around the world).

In 2008 he helped found MESA with Martin Porter and Devendra Mishra. Jim Wuthrich is President, International, Warner Home Video and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, where he is responsible for implementing the Company’s current international growth strategies while working closely with international territories to identify strategic opportunities for the Home Entertainment Group’s home video, digital distribution and games businesses abroad.

Jim has played a key leadership role in Warner Bros.’ digital effort since the Studio first began integrating its digital and packaged goods businesses with the successful launch of Digital Copy, which is now being offered by nearly all the major studios.
