Bob Auger has run several media acquisition and production companies since his early days as an engineer in broadcast television. In the 1970s, he founded one of the leading sound studios in Manchester, engineering tracks by Joy Division and Factory records among many others. In the early 1980s, he was appointed Audio-visual Director of Molinare, the ground-breaking London post-production company. As MD of Electric Switch in the 1990s, he supervised the supply of digital assets for the BT ADSL trials and subsequently played a significant role in the launch of DVD in Europe.

Since the turn of the millennium, he has spent more time reflecting on the industry as a consultant, conference speaker and correspondent. He writes a weekly Eye on the Supply opinion piece for the Cue Entertainment web site, covering all aspects of the entertainment supply chain.
