Paul Collard is responsible for business development in Film and Digital Services at Deluxe 142’s flagship Soho post production facility in the UK. Formerly MD of Soho Images and Todd-ao UK (now Deluxe Soho), Paul has an extensive background in film and digital post production, and gives regular presentations on Shooting Formats, DI, Digital Cinema and Archive Digitisation. He is a Past President of BKSTS and in 2009 he received the Arri John Alcott Memorial Award from the British Society of Cinematographers.
In his current role, Paul is involved in the application of Deluxe’s digitisation, restoration and asset management services to film & video archives in the UK & Europe.

Mathew is the chief executive officer of Fortium Technologies. He has 25 years experience of working in the media industry. He cofounded Fortium in 1999 and has been responsible for establishing it as a respected provider of anti piracy software solutions to blue chip film and entertainment businesses. He works closely with studio anti piracy teams to develop customised solutions that secure disc and file based content during production and after release.

Before joining Fortium Mathew held senior management positions in leading publishing, print, logistics and new media companies including Haymarket Publishing and St Ives. He led two VC backed MBOs before forming Fortium. With his management team he has specialised in taking compelling new concepts to launch and building critical market share. He was responsible for the sale of Fortium ICA in 1998, its image analysis subsidiary, which is now owned by Symantec Corporation. Having built up Patronus as a brand for protecting Academy award screeners he is currently focussing on a range of file based security publishing solutions that protect content while enhancing accessibility.

Alex Terpstra led the creation of Civolution as a spin out from Philips in 2008 and subsequently executed two acquisitions for Civolution – Teletrax in 2008 and Thomson STS in 2009.

After initially working in the television content production industry, Alex built his professional career further at Philips. From the early 1990s Alex was involved in the digitalization of television broadcasting and held various managerial positions in project and product management, sales, marketing and business development. In 2003 Alex was appointed General Manager of Philips’ conditional access business CryptoWorks. In January 2007 Alex was appointed CEO of the Philips Content Identification with the assignment to accelerate its growth, which led to the spin-out as a standalone company Civolution 2008. Steve started working in the security arena in 1994 whilst serving in the UK Royal Air Force. He specialized in the technical aspects of IT security from 1997 onward, and before retiring from active duty, he led the RAF’s penetration and TEMPEST testing teams. He founded Logically Secure in 2006 to provide specialist security advice to UK Government departments, defence contractors, the online video gaming industry, and both music and film labels worldwide.

Steve has worked on a wide variety of media projects including most recently a lead role in the implementation team responsible for drafting the latest version of the CDSA Digital Security Standard. Working with the principle directors of the content delivery storage association, Electronic Arts and NBC Universal Film the implementation team developed an ISO based audit and certification security standard now being adopted across a wide cross section of the Media Industry.

Other relevant recent consultancy roles within media include testing and risk assessment on bespoke client operating platforms. Steve has over the past five years fulfilled a number of internal IT security risk assessments on behalf of the EMI and Universal Music Group content protection departments across a broad cross section of the digital supply chain. Examples of audits carried out include SAVVIS, SONY DADC, Deluxe amongst others. Steve has also assisted with other media supply chain projects including NAGRA and Research in Motion.

Steve drafted the Compliance Testing elements of the UK Defence Manual of Security; outside Government he contributed to the latest release of the Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM) and wrote the SME targeted Certified Digital Security (CDS) standard. Still very much hands on, he performs Penetration Testing, Wireless Hacking and Incident Response for Logically Secure’s clients as well as teaching several courses for SANS in the EMEA territory.
