Josep is a co-founder and COO at Wuaki.tv, a Rakuten company. Before that, he was a co-founder and the COO at Openbravo. During his tenure sales grew annually at triple digits, and he raised more than 25M$ from different sources, including international VC funds GIMV and Amadeus Capital.

Previously, Josep was a principal for DiamondCluster International, where he worked in more than 10 countries, across 3 continents, dealing with mobile start-ups, valuation, strategy, business development and industrial marketing issues.

After graduation, he worked as a telecoms engineer for BASF in Germany. Josep obtained an MBA in IESE, Barcelona and has been an MBA visiting student in MIT’s Sloan, in Boston, MA

Mark Teitell is General Manager of the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE) – an alliance of approximately 85 companies, including many of the world’s top studios, technology providers, device makers and entertainment retailers. DECE created and is operating UltraViolet™ – a groundbreaking home entertainment industry standard that empowers consumers to use the “cloud” to enjoy their movie and TV show collections anytime, anywhere.

Teitell, who began working with DECE in 2009 and was named GM in February, 2010, works closely with alliance member companies to accelerate the adoption of UltraViolet. His GM role spans strategy, product development, marketing, finance, and operations functions.

With deep industry knowledge spanning the media, communications and consumer technology value chains, Teitell has specialized expertise in physical and digital home entertainment, multi-channel and overt-the-top video services, and emerging home video devices, as well as within related mobile industry spaces. Prior to his work with UltraViolet, he served as a consulting partner at Oliver Wyman, where he advised senior media and consumer technology executives on next-generation business models and new digital consumer offerings.

Previously, he was a member of Sprint PCS’ launch management team during its national build-out and launch. He has also held senior management roles within several venture-funded new media start-ups. His early career training included roles at PepsiCo and McKinsey & Company.

Teitell has presented at a number of leading industry events, including the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the National Association of Broadcasters’ NAB Show and Digital Hollywood, among others.

Teitell holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s J.D. Kellogg School of Management, where he graduated with distinction and was named an F.C. Austin Scholar. He is also a graduate of Brown University.

With DEG: the Digital Entertainment Group since its formation in 1997, Amy Jo Smith serves as president of the industry-supported trade coalition dedicated to advancing home entertainment products and exploring other digital entertainment products. Under her leadership, the DEG is credited with helping to make DVD the fastest growing consumer electronics product in industry history.

Smith is responsible for managing the trade association and marketing DVD, Blu-ray Disc and digital entertainment on behalf of the Hollywood studios, music companies and leading consumer electronics manufacturers. Smith is responsible for administration and the marketing and public relations of the group including media relations, trade outreach and collateral materials.

Under Smith’s leadership, the DEG membership base has grown to include more than 60 leading companies in the home entertainment space. As part of their work, they engage regular dialogue with the DEG Retail Advisory Board including mass merchants, regional, online, e-tailers, rental chains and independent retailers. The DEG also has a comprehensive initiative aimed at bettering eco-friendly practices of home entertainment products.

In 2007, Smith was the recipient of the Visionary Award presented by Home Media Magazine and Hollywood Reporter. She was given the industry’s top honor for her tireless efforts for evangelizing home entertainment products. Smith was listed in Video Business’ Women Elite in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Prior to joining the DEG, Smith served a brief tenure as communications advisor for the Clinton White House. She also worked on the Clinton for President campaign in 1992. She was an aide to Los Angeles Mayor Dick Riordan, Los Angeles City Council President John Ferraro and Los Angeles School board president Mark Slavkin.

Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
